Things are definitely looking up for Britney Spears these days, as the troubled singer has been on the mend after an eventful year marked by a series of quite serious crises which involved losing custody of her children and watching her hugely successful musical career take a turn for the worse. However, Britney is reportedly working hard to get into shape and attempt another showbiz comeback, under the watchful eye of her father. And, if in the career department, things have taken a definite upswing for the young mother of two, it's quite a disappointment to notice that, fashion-wise, Britney is still making a series of blunders which seem to undermine her overall public image.

The latest in the set was stepping out for a meeting with her management team in Los Angeles dressed in a very unflattering satin lilac dress that clung to her body in all the wrong places and revealed the singer's bloated belly. Britney's yo-yoing weight had previously given rise to a lot of speculation according to which the singer was pregnant again; however, sources from her entourage have revealed that she is merely unable to get her weight under control despite rigorous workouts and a strict diet. "Britney's bloated because of various medications," an insider revealed to the Daily Mail, adding that "They [the medications] make her weight fluctuate."

However, even a fluctuating weight is no excuse for donning a dress that's extremely ill-appropriate for Britney's build and current figure. As mentioned before, satin is an unfortunate choice for daytime altogether, and especially for a bloated figure, as it clings to the bust and waist areas, revealing what should in fact stay hidden. For Britney's current size and body shape, she could have gone for either a light cotton wrap dress or a maxi dress with an empire cut, both of which would have clung to her bust line, skimming her belly and thighs. Let's hope that Britney's management team will soon include a stylist - which would indeed be an expense well justified.
