The tragic events that took place yesterday in the British capital made the entire world stop and look, as new chapters of the war between terrorist and the civilized world were being written. Most British websites presenting information regarding the crisis situations in London have recorded and all-time high, in terms of the number of visitors.

The pages updated by the famous BBC, the satellite-broadcasting company BSkyB, the Reuters news agency and the Financial Times have had serious difficulties in presenting information within the virtual space, due to the huge volume of requests from the Internet surfers around the world.

The accessibility of these websites, as well of many other information sources located in London has decreased dramatically, although the audience records established yesterday are undisputable. The BBC has certainly had its busiest day yet, but the greatest number of visitors on its sites, even if the official statistics are due to be released today. However, even if there were some delays in delivering the information, the sites have been able to cope with the record number of requests.

sky.com/skynews is another site that has been extremely busy yesterday, as it had recorded until 3:15 GMT over 1.7 million users. The situation has also been a difficult one for Reuters.co.uk, but also for other important sites in Europe, which have experienced technical problems as the servers were overloaded due to the huge number of visitors.
