?and then just park it in front of my house

Seeing a nice car has always hit me in a soft spot that I tried to deny having for so many years. I've never admitted to looking after cars and never even wanted to know more about the specifications on any, except for that which swayed me and still holds me in its curves' grip, the Audi TT. I know it's old and I know it's not the best, I know better cars in each area are out there, but? I don't know, it's the one for me.

I had lived in my denial for so long that now it feels like a veil has been lifted from my eyes, when I start thinking about the Chevy Volt that Google hosted in its Mountain View complex yesterday. It's a dream come true and a dream that is part of a worthy cause, as well. The RechargeIT is a Google.org initiative that has brought the plug-in vehicle just to show to the googlers the better alternative and to demonstrate, with statistics, how something can actually do you good, by saving your money and your planet.

"The Chevy Volt is a plug-in vehicle that operates on a combination of gasoline (biodiesel, E85, and gasoline fuels) and electricity. Its large lithium-ion battery pack allows it to run only on electricity for up to 40 miles. Since 78% of U.S. commuters drive 40 miles or less from work, charging overnight can provide enough energy for most daily commutes. On longer trips, the car uses its combustion engine as a 'range extender' but GM still expects it to get about 150 miles per gallon. According to GM, the Volt is expected to save drivers 570 gallons (or $1368 per year, electricity included) in fuel cost", Adam Borelli, the Team Coordinator from Google.org, specified in a blog.

This is part of the green way of thinking that Google is trying to promote through all its means and what way to do that better than to start from the inside out? First your own employees and after that, through their work and example, as well as your efforts as a company, the world.
