14 DAY TRIAL // The moment when an MMA fighter simply gives up a match has been captured on camera and posted to YouTube this weekend.
MMA Fighting puts the incident into context – the man featured here is Claudinei Angelo, and he was fighting against Evilasio Silva during the Fight Evolution championship in Juiz de Fora, Brazil.
The match took place on Saturday, October 5. Angelo's mouthpiece fell off and the match was stopped.
Referee Flavio Almendra put a stop to the fight once more the second time that happened, but refused to do so the third time. Almendra believed that Angelo spat out the mouthpiece onto the mat on purpose.
The fighter asked for a time out, but it was not given to him as Almendra didn't realize that he was asking for one.
