Dubbed the AK-47

Apparently there are some users out there that would still fancy a handset looking like a Walky Talky and sporting an external antenna, resembling the brick phones every one of us owned back in the days when mobile phones were only used for making calls.

Brando, a company that has amazed us time and time again with innovative products is now introducing one such phone, dubbed the AK-47. The handset will work with any SIM card from the US, Europe, Australia and New Zealand allowing its user to just take one phone along while traveling.

Actually, it looks like one of those army toy phones delivered along with soldier sets for kids, which makes it a pretty interesting device that some types of users might really appreciate. Although it seems quite bulky and hard to carry around, this is really not the case. The phone measures 47mm x 140mm x 47 mm and weighs just about 80 grams.

The exact purpose of this mobile phone is yet unknown, but it definitely doesn't seem to be a viable replacement for your average mobile, keeping in mind that its design and external antenna just won't do for some of the more fashion-conscious users out there. With most people out there buying RAZR phones and slim Samsung handsets, this particular mobile will appeal to a smaller number of users.

It's more of a fun and stand out device that someone would consider buying especially for its strange, walkie-talkie-like looks. Surprisingly, it also packs some decent features, including a 2.2 inch 262k color screen, 1024k of internal memory expandable through a MicroSD card slot with support to up to 1GB cards, MP3/MP4 player, a (well-hidden) 2 megapixel camera, games, memo, calendar, alarm, clock, calculator, ebook reader and LCD torchlight. While the Walkie Talkie AK-47 is not really like the mobile phones available on the market today, it does sport a friendly price tag, being available for $225.
