A new doctor wants to play with your brain

You probably know already about Dr. Kawashima's refuse to get the $11 million in royalties for his Brain Age mega hit game that sold over 17 million units worldwide. Even more, you have probably thought yourself that you will develop the next "brain training" game (I sure did!). If you haven't started already or, even more, if you are not close to finish your project, we've got some bad news: another Doctor has done it! Dr. Reiner Knizia and Eidos have teamed up to create a brain-bender game called... Brainbenders. As a Nintendo DS exclusive, of course.

Dr. Ryuta Kawashima (the Brain Age guy) is, for most of the people, a blocky, stoic face on your DS touchscreen. Dr. Reiner Knizia takes the brain training game design further, as he will be half of a man! And since he's not blocky at all, he will win the visual fight for sure. But that doesn't matter, stuff like this does not matter for the docs.

Especially because Dr. Knizia is an expert in algorithmically generated logic problems and has over 300 board games and books to his name. Now he wants to go next gen (well... as next gen a Nintendo DS game can get) so he created a collection of puzzle games for the entire family - you will have to travel to different cities and solve all sorts of puzzle on your way. In other words, get ready for some brain benders!

For example, you will have the chance to organize dancers at the Rio Carnival, memorize melodies at the Sydney Opera House, speed count marine life off the coast of Cape Town and assemble stone tablets to uncover the amazing secret of the Aztec ruins. And be sure that nothing is as simple as it sounds right now. But we will surely find out soon, when the game will be released. No date is set so... back to Brain Training.
