Brad Pitt has discovered a passion for war movies, and World War II in particular, the same as good friend George Clooney. While Pitt has just finished working on David Ayer's war epic “Fury,” Clooney has released “The Monuments Men,” both movies with the Second World War as a background theme.

Pitt is now taking his passion one step forward by having his eyes firmly set on a WWII “romantic thriller” according to Deadline, that is supposed to be directed by a big name that hasn't been revealed yet.

The screenplay of the yet-unnamed project is written by Steven Knight who has previously worked on “Locke” and the production will be handled but Graham King, known for his work on Angelina Jolie's debut “In the Land of Blood and Honey.”

It's speculated that Pitt's love for war movies was sparked when he starred in Quentin Tarantino's “Inglorious Basterds” which is why he's joining this new project so early in the production process. The deal isn't done yet, and the project still doesn't even have a distributor, but Brad is keen to land the role so he's standing up to be counted.

Apart from this new movie, Pitt is also getting ready for the “World War Z” sequel.
