Concerns are raised about how this will affect the general health of kids in this country

The American Academy of Pediatrics has just released a new study saying that, when compared to data reported in the past, young boys in this country are hitting puberty about six months to two years sooner than they used to.

Thus, the average American boy enters puberty at the age of 10.

Interestingly enough, the findings of this particular study coincide with those of a previous report which stated that American girls are also experiencing an early onset of puberty.

Based on the date provided by these two investigations, specialists argue that future researches must focus on how this will impact on the general health of the American population.

“Following changes in growth and development is an important part of assessing the health of the nation's children,” study author Marcia E. Herman-Giddens explains.

The bodily signs of early puberty onset targeted by this study included early testicular enlargement and pubic hair growth.
