The marketing people at Budweiser have come up with an ingenious way to make their beer cans stand out on a shelf, making you buy more while drinking less of it for probably the same price.

The new cans will embody the essence of the Budweiser bow tie logo by taking its shape. I guess that the redesign will also make them easier to grab and hold.

Gizmodo speaks about the “King of Beers” getting a new look and being sold in packs of eight starting this spring. The exact date on which the company plans to release the product is not provided as of yet.

The cans will hold 11.3 ounces (320 g) of beer instead of 12 ounces (340 g) as they would normally. Company reps have detailed that they have been working on the design for the cans since 2010.
