Last week, Booz Allen Hamilton, posted an ad on its website for an insider threat analyst job. This is interesting, considering that Edward Snowden, the man who has become sort of a symbol for insider threats, was working for the company when he was stealing information on the NSA’s controversial surveillance programs.

Applicants for the job must have at least five years of experience with insider threat issues, security, information assurance, counterintelligence and network engineering.

“Work with government and commercial organizations to develop and implement insider threat program solutions,” the description of the “National Security and Defense” job reads.

Shortly after Snowden started leaking information to the press, many blamed Booz Allen for allowing it to happen.

However, in July 2013, the US Air Force determined that the company wasn’t responsible for Snowden’s actions, and allowed it to compete with other organizations for a $900 million (€662 million) contract.
