Sprint’s no contract sister brand, Boost Mobile will soon launch the HTC EVO Design 4G. This is quite new for the carrier which is trying to attract more customers with high-end devices.

In fact, HTC EVO Design 4G will be Boost Mobile’s first top-tier smartphone. The company’s current portfolio comprises low- to mid-end devices, so this is quite an important change for Boost Mobile.

According to Pocketnow, customers will be able to purchase the HTC EVO Design 4G by the end of Q2 2012, though no exact release date or pricing option has been revealed.

Aside from the fact that it will bring such a powerful device to its customers, Boost Mobile plans to launch the HTC EVO Design 4G with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box.

Keep in mind that this smartphone is currently available at Sprint with Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform, though it has been confirmed for an Ice Cream Sandwich update for Q2 2012.

No clue on whether or not Sprint’s variant will get the upgrade before Boost Mobile goes live with its own branded HTC EVO Design 4G, but they should be upgraded around the same timeframe.

HTC EVO Design 4G is equipped with a 1.2 GHz single-core Qualcomm MSM8655 processor and packs 768MB of RAM, 4GB of ROM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8GB memory card included).

The smartphone sports a large 4.0-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.

On the back, the device features a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording, while in the front there’s a 1.3-megapixel camera for video calls.

There’s also Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, as well as built-in GPS with A-GPS and Wi-Fi hotspot capability. Stay tuned for more updates on the subject.
