Research In Motion and Boost Mobile have just announced the launch of the BlackBerry Style 9670 clamshell smartphone.

The handset will be available at Boost Mobile exclusive retail stores, as well as authorized seller and online starting July 20. Potential customers can purchase the BlackBerry Syle 9670 for $199.99 (excluding taxes).

The phone features a stylish and elegant design and comes with a TFT main display with 65K colors support and and unusual 360 x 400 pixels resolution.

Aimed at business customers, the BlackBerry Style 9670 offers users a smooth messaging and email experience thanks to the included full QWERTY BlackBerry keyboard and real-time chats with BBM (BlackBerry Messenger).

Boost Mobile has partnered with RIM to offer a great solution for wireless customers who want style, efficiency and value. The BlackBerry Style offers all three when combined with the incredible savings of Boost’s unlimited no-contract plan,” said Andre Smith, vice president, Boost Mobile.

Bearing a flip form factor, BlackBerry Style 9670 features a 5-megapixel camera, optical trackpad, built-in GPS, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

The phone is powered by BlackBerry 6 operating system, which allows for rich web browsing and provides access to a broad catalog of applications via BlackBerry App World.

When it comes to software, the smartphone comes pre-loaded with BlackBerry maps, Document editor (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF), media and video player, as well as access to Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, YouTube and more.

In addition, the clamshell offers users access to their email accounts from Gmail, MSN, Yahoo! and other email systems.

BlackBerry Style 9670's standard 1150 mAh Li-Ion battery should provide users with up to 264 hours of standby time or up to 4 hours and 30 minutes of talk time.

According to Boost Mobile, the BlackBerry Style 9670 will operate on a more reliable network with fewer dropped and blocked calls than T-Mobile.
