Harmonix and MTV Games, the two caretakers for the Rock Band franchise, have revealed that soon after the launch of the third title in the series, which is set to arrive on October 26 in the United States on the Nintendo Wii, the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360 and the DS, a full downloadable content pack with Bon Jovi tracks will be offered to fans.

Currently the band is doing promotional activities for their new Greatest Hits – The Ultimate Collection album, which will arrive on November 8 and will feature no less than 28 tracks on two disks.

It seems that not all of them will be included in the package coming to Rock Band 3.

On the official Rock Band forum a spokesman for Harmonix says, “Don't expect a huge multi-disc album release though, as the Surgeon General has determined that anything more than 12 tracks of Bon Jovi in a single pack could contain potentially dangerous levels of swoon when downloaded by women, and result in deadly amounts of 'good hair envy' in men.”

Paul DeGooyer, who is the senior vice president at MTV in charge of music and video games, told MCV that, “Bon Jovi for us is one of our most requested artists. We’ve had a couple of songs on disc, but we’ve never done a vertical campaign like this with them.”

Richie Sambora, the guitarist of the band, added that the band is satisfied to work with Harmonix and MTV Games because Rorck Band is a good vehicle to bring their music to a new generation of potential fans.

Rock Band 3 marks a pretty significant change for the series, mostly because it adds full support for keyboards in the songs and adds Pro modes that are close to real life instrument playing.

Harmonix has also announced that Pro mode DLC will cost one dollar more than the normal 1.99.
