Neither Microsoft nor Hudson Soft have confirmed it, but we know it's coming

The arcade-style maze-based video game developed by Hudson Soft, was first released in 1983 for the MSX, NEC PC-8801, NEC PC-6001, Sharp MZ-700 and FM-7 in Japan and for the ZX Spectrum in Europe, under several different versions of titles according to the nations. Now, although Internet services from major console manufacturers today are flooded with old arcade games, some bring as much fun today as they did when they first launched. Bomberman is one of those games.

In the game, Bomberman wanders around a maze with enemies scattered around. In order to get to the next maze, Bomberman has to find a door concealed under a block, which must be blasted away with a bomb, of course. At the same time, he has to avoid some enemies, which by the passing of each level become greater in number and harder to beat at the same time.

As 1Up reports, a quintessential multiplayer version of the beloved PC classic is finally coming to Xbox Live Arcade. Although neither Microsoft nor Hudson Soft have officially confirmed the game, it was X-Power who got their hands on a bunch of official Bomberman screen shots and artwork. Everything leads to a 2007 release.

This doesn't mean that you should be skeptical until there's some official word from either company. Bomberman makes more sense via XBLA that it did on the PC when it was first released. Plus, Microsoft knows exactly what XBLA fans want, so expect some official confirmation soon.

You have some classic video-game delicacy to your left. Enjoy!
