Oprah nabbed the first interview with Bobbi Kristina (Krissi) since Whitney Houston's death. The special will air this Sunday, and it was possible only because the singer's 18-year-old daughter trusts the Queen of Television.

The moment word got out that Bobbi Kristina and Whitney's brother and sister in law had agreed to do the interview, questions arose about their motivation.

In Krissi's case, it wasn't money, TMZ reports after confirming it with reliable sources close to her.

In fact, chances are she didn't even get paid to sit down for an interview, but she was offered some sort of assurance that delicate questions, questions that could put her in a bad light, wouldn't be asked.

“Bobbi Kristina isn't doing her first post-Whitney interview with Oprah Winfrey because of the money – she's doing it because the big O's a close family friend and Bobbi trusts her to be fair and respectful,” TMZ reports.

Krissi has been telling friends that Oprah never did Whitney wrong, which, she believes, will also apply to her now.

“[Oprah] was loyal to my mom, and never did my mother wrong, or made her look bad. She always looked out for my mom,” TMZ cites her as saying.

“As a result, we're told Bobbi feels Oprah would show her the same respect – not bringing up issues that could potentially show Bobbi in a negative light... i.e. substance abuse,” adds the report.

As we also noted on various previous occasions, there's a lot of speculation about the reasons Bobbi Kristina was hospitalized twice after her mother's death – and whether she's turned to drugs and alcohol to numb the pain.

“According to sources close to Bobbi, Oprah was one of the first people who reached out to her after Whitney passed,” TMZ says.

This could have been yet another argument in favor of doing the interview.

Yesterday, the first preview of the TV special was released. It didn't reveal much, but it did confirm that Krissi would be making an appearance to talk about her late mother.
