The Internet has become the world's biggest content-distribution vehicle, with music, movies and data circulating at very fast speeds, in either legal or less-than-legal ways. For this reason, consumer electronics manufacturers are beginning to roll out various multimedia playback devices that support all the Internet-friendly formats, and that's also the case with the latest announcement from Blusens, namely the Blu:Brain Home Entertainment Device (HED), previously codenamed G70.

The Blu:Brain is a connected media center, meaning that it can access the Internet either via a wired (Ethernet) or a wireless (WiFi) connection. Actually, this feature is extremely important, since it enables users to stream Internet TV stations right to their HDTV sets. Plus, it also comes packed with a DVB-T tuner, which makes it quite future-proof, at least as far as the signal reception methods are concerned.

As mentioned right from the title, one of the main selling points of the device is represented by its extended level of versatility and file compatibility. The Blu:Brain works with multiple image, audio and high definition video formats, such as MPEG-4(XviD), H.264, MPEG-2, MKV, etc. Plus, the files (some of which are notoriously big) can be stored onto a removable internal hard disc, whose actual size depends on the user's decision and budget. In other words, users can purchase their HDD of choice separately and install it within the Blu:Brain, in a very fast and easy manner.

Besides the connectivity options mentioned above, the device also sports other interfaces, such as 2 HDMI outputs (for connecting to high-definition TV sets or HD signal sources), 2 USB host ports (for playing back or copying files from flash drives), as well as an SD card reader.

Unfortunately, no pricing or availability details have been provided for the time being, but it would seem that the device is very likely to arrive at some point in early 2009.
