ModeLabs, the French company that designs custom-made mobile-related products, has announced the release of Bluetrek Metal, its newest Bluetooth headset. Bluetrek Metal comes after the Bluetrek Bizz, ModeLab's previously launched headset that has become quite successful, being the first Bluetooth headset to come with an integrated USB drive. The new Bluetrek Metal has a "first" too, as it's the only Bluetooth headset to measure only 4 millimeters in thickness and to weigh no more than 5.5 grams.

Not as advanced as Aliph's Jawbone 2 (which is also kind of expensive - $129.99), Bluetrek Metal still brings nice features, including a battery capable to offer up to 5 hours of talk-time and up to one week of "sleep time".

Bluetrek Metal will be available starting this month, all over Europe, in two color versions: Aluminum black with silver, and Silver stainless steel. The Aluminum version comes for a retail price of 39 Euros ($60), while the stainless steel one will cost 49 Euros ($76).

"Thanks to the use of metal, ModeLabs engineers rose up to the challenge of making an ultra-thin, slick designed and firmly modern Bluetooth headset. The Bluetrek Metal is discreet thanks to its comfort and extremely light weight, and suits perfectly the current consumer's expectations. It proves once again the innovation ability of the group, both with the used materials and the design and technologies it was able to conjure", said Henri-Nicolas Olivier, ModeLabs Technologies' CEO, in a press release issued yesterday.

Besides the Metal and Bizz models, ModeLabs has released many other Bluetooth headsets under the Bluetrek brand, like Bluetrek Tatoo, Bluetrek UFO, Bluetrek Sense and Bluetrek Sugar. The newest member of the family is surely a nice addition and it will probably sell well, considering its Lilliputian dimension and its decent price.
