Means to boost interoperability between wearable gadgets and gym equipment

Looks like the Bluetooth Special Interest Group is taking a special interest in the physical fitness of all the people around the world, or at least those who own Bluetooth devices.

Right to the point, Bluetooth SIG has formed a new group that will be tasked with finding means to enhance interoperability of wearable gadgets and “hub” devices, as well as fitness equipment.

Called Sports and Fitness Working Group, it will look at everything from Bluetooth watches to smartphones, TVs and whatever automated machines people find in a gym.

This group wouldn't have had much point in the past, but now that Bluetooth 4.0 is a dream come true, it is the next logical step.

For those who don't know, Bluetooth v4.0 has very low power specifications, enough that anything from common devices to static data-collecting sensor can use it.
