Bluestreak, the first project from Cliff Bleszinski's new studio Bosskey, will focus at first on the PC platform and might get plenty of features focusing on user-generated content and eSports, although the designer notes that it will take some time to get there.

Cliff Bleszinski impressed millions of gamers during his career at Epic Games, overseeing great projects like Unreal Tournament or Gears of War, and gaining quite a few critics due to his brash tone about the industry as a whole.

He resigned from his position at Epic some time ago, and now the designer is back at the helm of his own team called Bosskey Productions and has already confirmed that the first game is called Bluestreak and will deliver an arena-based first-person shooter experience, in the vein of Unreal Tournament, for example.

The game is a free-to-play experience, and according to Bleszinski, who answered fan questions in a Reddit AMA, the focus is on the PC as the community and the global audience can be reached in an easy way on that platform.

"PC first, and then we'll see," he said about the new game. "PC is where the comments generally are, the community gathers, and it's got that big global audience. In order to hit that global audience your game needs to look fantastic on the high end rigs but also run on a potato."

When asked about user-generated content, Bleszinski expressed his love and mentioned that, while such a thing is on the table for Bluestreak, he doesn't want the team to be spread out too thin.

"On the PC it's easier than ever to have this sort of thing, let's just say we need to 'walk' before we 'run' in this department. We need to make a great game with a community around it, sort out if people actually want to spend a dime on it and then figure out how to get to user made arenas, at a minimum."

He also talked about the potential of Bluestreak becoming a competitive eSport, as lots of shooters lend themselves well to this sort of thing. The designer noted that this can't be planned out and that the community will turn it into something competitive if it's worth it.

"Of course," he said about the eSport potential of Bluestreak, "but you can't just make an eSport. It's like trying to force a meme, it doesn't work that way. You make an airtight game first with a rock solid community and maybe, just maybe, you can make that leap."

Bluestreak is still in the early stages of development, so don't expect to hear any exact details until a few months pass.
