The awesome blogging application WordPress on iPhone and iPad now features a slidable sidebar menu just like the popular social apps Twitter and Facebook. WordPress 3.1 also brings a lot of other visual enhancements that longtime users are sure to receive with their arms wide open.

Automattic, the developer of the iOS implementation of Wordpress, says “It's easy to manage your WordPress blog or site from your iOS device.”

“With WordPress for iOS, you can moderate comments, create or edit posts and pages, view stats, and add images or videos with ease. All you need is a WordPress.com blog or a self-hosted WordPress.org site running 3.1 or higher,” according to the description.

Thanks to version 1.3, it’s now even easier (and more fun) to make a quick post, review comments, check out specific pages and posts, view statistics, see the dashboard, and more.

It’s all thanks to the all-new sidebar menu that makes for a much quicker navigation through the app’s services. Users of the Twitter and Facebook iOS apps will feel right at home in WordPress 3.1.

iPad users get even more sliding panels, thanks to the increased real estate of the 10-inch display, and all users get updated colors and graphics, an improved sign-up experience from within the app, as well as a new icon.

There’s more! Bloggers now get support for Post Formats, access to WordPress.com Reader and Quick Photo on the iPad, a New Simple post preview feature (also new to tablet users), all-new WordPress.com stats, and a new WordPress.com Friend Finder that helps you find your friends blogging on WordPress.com.

Last, but not least, you now get Landscape orientation support throughout the whole app, and the ability to view your site and access the web dashboard right from the app. Longtime users will also notice many reliability improvements and performance tweaks.
