Developer Blizzard has released a guide designed to show players what they need to do in order to make sure that they are ready to play the much-awaited Diablo III on launch date.

The first thing any gamer needs to do is to pick up a copy of the game, which can still be done from the online Blizzard store or from physical retailers.

A Battle Tag for Battle.net is required and Blizzard says that it should be created now in order to make sure that pressure on the service is as small as possible on launch day.

Those who have purchased a digital copy of Diablo III can also begin downloading the game client, in order to have it ready for the early install process that can be started at 08:01 AM Pacific Daylight Time on May 14.

After installing on that date, gamers can also download the 1.0.1 patch and prepare to run the game.

Blizzard also reminds players that the Global Play service, which gives gamers more options to group together with friends, will only be turned on after 12:01AM PDT on May 15.

The number of gamers who will try to log in to Battle.net and run Diablo III on launch night will be huge and the developers say that players should wait for 40 seconds when attempting to log in to the game and then try again if they fail to get in.

The company also advises all fans to keep an eye on the official forums of Diablo III in order to see whether there are any issues with the download or the early install process.

Diablo III has been in development for close to ten years and will allow players to use five classes in order to once again battle a range of fantasy creatures in their search for quest meaning and loot.
