The Reaper of Souls expansion for Diablo 3 is set to launch in a few weeks and among the wealth of new content that it will include Blizzard says that gamers will have limited information about the fate of character Leah’s soul.

Leonard Boyarsky, the senior world designer working on the title, tells Diablo3.net.pl that “It's more of a story of Diablo and Malthael and it didn't feel that there was a good place for it in the story. That's one of our things that we really want to address... Out basic understanding is that... I can't really say.”

The developer suggests that his company has more content for Diablo 3 planned for the future that will address all the questions raised in the original campaign and new ones that Reaper of Souls will introduce.

The world designer also says that the team is still discussing how to approach some of the story lines and that a clearer view of all the narrative threads will emerge after the launch of the expansion.

He says that Blizzard wants to focus on lore expansion in Reaper of Souls and on the way it can tell small stories using NPCs and various legendary objects, without forcing the player to read large amounts of text at once.

Leonard Boyarsky adds, “There is always supernatural aspect of angels and demons but we are trying to bring as much conflict into this human story. We are really always trying to find a good motivation for these guys and make them as real as possible.”

In the expansion, gamers will travel to a new set of areas, battle more powerful enemies, and deal with a story that involves a black soulstone and Death itself.

In order to do this, they will have access to a new class, the Crusader, specifically designed to tackle undead, and the entire balance of the game has been shifted with the recently launched patch 2.0.1.

Reaper of Souls will be offered on March 25 and all those who pre-order the expansion before that moment will get a unique in-game item and a new character that can be used in the Heroes of the Storm Multiplayer Online Battle Arena title.

Until March 24, a 50 percent experience boost is also in effect, allowing players to upgrade their characters using the new Paragon system and the upgraded and legendary items that they get from battles.
