Developers believe this one is massive

Blizzard is getting ready for the release of the second expansion for its blockbuster MMO World of Warcraft. But before Wrath of the Lich King can present its glory to all gamers, the game will receive another update, which seems to be massive, in the coming weeks. The idea is that the game is not ready for the expansion yet, as most of the content and features that are now available need to be "bridged" to the expansion.

The update will include new class spells, talents, plus two arenas which are specifically designed with new layouts, hazards and moving obstacles; a re-make of the skills of the pet which the Hunter can get and an option for guild calendar are also featured. There is an implementation of barbershops (a new profession being added) in all the capitals in the game as well. Inscription is now capped but once Wrath of the Lich King is launched, players will be able to specialize in the field.

The people at Blizzard are saying that the full patch notes will only be released shortly before the update itself arrives for their MMO. The idea is that the developers might need to address other issues, related to balancing.

The expansion, which introduces a new class, the first since the launch of the MMO, is due to arrive during fall, opening an entire new continent which players can explore. They will also be able to change many aspects of the game. The idea is that all the changes made to characters' talents, to spells and other things will disrupt the delicate balance that is needed for Player vs. Player fights. The team behind the game will have a lot of work to do to re-balance it all, so expect a lot of updates and patches once the expansion is launched.
