A celebration for Blizzard fans

Blizzard is one of the most popular companies in the gaming industry, partly because it has struggled to offer players some of the most fulfilling and solid games created and because it always maintains a close tie with its fanbase and implements its desires into updates to the titles already released.

Blizzard is also one of the few companies that has its own convention, in the form of BlizzCon, a celebration for fans who have the chance to get close and personal with the creators of franchises like StarCraft, Diablo, or the hugely successful World of Warcraft MMORPG.

Now, the company has just announced the first details on the next BlizzCon, which will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center in California, just like last year, between August 21-22. But don't think this will be similar to last year, as the video-game company has revealed that because of the popularity the show is experiencing, the exhibition space will be increased from three convention halls to four in order to satisfy the large number of expected attendees.

“We’ve been amazed by the incredible response to each of our previous BlizzCon events,” Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment, said. “We’re pleased to be bringing the convention back to Anaheim this year, and we look forward to this new opportunity to meet Blizzard gamers from around the world.”

Here are some of the things that Blizzard fans will enjoy over the course of the two days during the convention: “BlizzCon will offer a wide variety of activities throughout the two-day event. In addition to serving as a gathering place for Blizzard Entertainment gaming communities, attendees will be able to enjoy:

Hands-on play time with upcoming Blizzard Entertainment games; Discussion panels with Blizzard Entertainment developers; Competitive and casual tournaments for players to showcase their talents; Community contests with great prizes; Commemorative merchandise based on Blizzard Entertainment’s game universes; A silent auction; More exciting activities and attractions to be announced.”

All in all, this will certainly be a convention to remember for Blizzard fans, as the company has promised to reveal new details about upcoming titles such as StarCraft II or Diablo III, and we might get to see some tidbits of information about the other mysterious projects from it.
