Mists of Pandaria is not yet out, but the developers working on the most popular subscription based MMO in the world at Blizzard are already ready to start working on a new package of big content for the game.

Speaking to CVG, Paul Sams, who is the chief operations officer at Blizzard, said that the core framework for a fifth expansion was already in place.

“They’re lore creators. They’re the ones who drive what the world looks like today and what it’ll be like tomorrow and beyond. I think the future of World of Warcraft continues to be bright and I think Mists of Pandaria is going to breathe huge life into what I believe is the best MMO out there.”

The executive suggested that the faith of a possible fifth full expansion for World of Warcraft was linked to the reaction of the player base for the MMO, both in terms of sales for Mists of Pandaria and in terms of players who returned to the game because of it.

Sams added, “I think the number of people we have playing and the level of enthusiasm they have for the game suggests that to be the case. This is the next of many ways in which we’re going to grow and improve and evolve this game.”

Mists of Pandaria has entered a beta stage recently, with all those who have Annual Passes for World of Warcraft set to get an invitation via Battle.net in the coming days.

Blizzard has not said how long the beta will last for or when the Mists of Pandaria expansion will be launched, but the fans are expecting to get access to it before the end of the year.

The expansion adds a whole new continent to explore, a new neutral race and a new class.
