Blizzard teased over the weekend the addition of the new heroes of its MOBA-like Heroes of the Storm game, which pointed out to The Lost Vikings.

The company is already testing internally 6 other heroes that are not available in the beta, and sometime this week one of them will be available for general public.

Today, Blizzard teased the new character again, but this time we can say for certain that they will be adding The Lost Vikings as playable character this week.

The Lost Vikings is a trio of characters that appeared for the first time in the game with the same name released on SNES in 1992 and re-released by Blizzard on Game Boy Advance in 2003.

Erik, Baleog and Olaf are the main protagonists in this platformer that has been recently added to Battle.net as a free download emulated through DOSBox.

Your mission is to find your way home after being kidnapped by an evil emperor for an inter-galactic zoo and becoming lost in various periods of time.

Each of the three heroes has their unique abilities that will help them overcome any obstacle. For example, Erik is faster than the other two and he can jump and bash through walls, while Baleog can kill enemies with his sword or bow. Olaf is capable of blocking enemies and their projectiles with his shield.

The Lost Vikings may be added as early as February 11

It will be interesting to see how many of these abilities will be implemented into Heroes of the Strom as well.

Having a unique hero with all those skills right from the beginning can be pretty overpowered, which is why we believe Blizzard will allow players to add these abilities as their hero levels up.

We’re still waiting for official word and the implementation of the new hero, which is likely to happen on February 11 when Blizzard confirmed it would reveal a new hero and new skins during its Brawl with the Blues live stream event.
