Blizzard has announced that the tickets for the fifth BlizzCon gaming convention will be put up for sale in two batches on Wednesday, the 2nd of June and on Saturday, the 5th of June, 2010. This major event for all Blizzard fans will take place in the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California on the 22nd and the 23rd of October, this year.

The price of the tickets will be of 150 dollars each and they will be available for purchase from BlizzCon's official website. The buying process can be simplified if one registers for an account on Battle.net. For the people who will not be able to reach the convention this year, the whole event will be televised in the United States as a pay-per-view program for 39.95 dollars and will be available for customers in the rest of the world through Internet streaming at the same price. The opening ceremony will be streamed for free, though.

BlizzCon is a meeting place for all of Blizzard's followers that will have a chance, during the two days in October, to join in different discussion panels, competitive and casual tournaments, as well as various contests. Also, Blizzard has promised that gamers will get hands-on playtime with future titles that are currently in development.

This comes as the launch for Starcraft 2: Wing of Liberty is on the horizon. The long-awaited sequel to the most popular strategy game ever made is set to be released soon, on the 27th of July. The package will feature, besides the extensive multiplayer component, only the Terran story campaign. The other two, Protoss and Zerg, will be released at later dates that have not been disclosed by Blizzard. The title's first phase of the beta stage will end on the 31st of May, while the second phase is to begin a few weeks before the launch of the new installment.
