The large distributor of digital and physical books and entertainment products Baker & Taylor, Inc. has just announced a partnership with K-NFB Reading Technology, aimed at having the Blio e-reading software application preloaded on various devices from T-Mobile USA.

The announcement was made during the CTIA Wireless show in Orlando, Florida. The app should provide T-Mobile customers with access to media content from thousands of top publishers, in addition to offering a great e-reading experience.

“We are delighted to partner with T-Mobile, which is known for delivering premium bonus applications to its customers,” said Bob Nelson, President of Baker & Taylor's Digital Group.

“Blio brings e-books to life, in vivid color and with a variety of enhanced features, including audio read along, Web browsing from inside the book and its patented Read Logic technology.”

The Blio application should arrive on handsets running under Google's Android operating system, delivering access to a new set of enhanced titles, such as feature rich full-color e-books, which would easily prove a great option for children and families.

Moreover, T-Mobile customers would benefit from the possibility to download featured titles from some of the leading publishers and brands.

“Blio offers an unparalleled e-reading experience that will delight book lovers and create a whole new audience of readers with feature rich content that consumers can access wherever they are, whenever they want,” Ray Kurzweil, founder of K-NFB Reading Technology, said.

“T-Mobile customers, who have come to expect exciting bonus apps and premium content, will simply love Blio,” Kurzweil continued.

Users would also benefit from access to the Blio storefront, which includes a number of over 3 million paid and free titles at the moment.

Moreover, they would be able to automatically sync and view content that was purchased on other T-Mobile devices, or via their Windows-based netbooks, laptops or desktop PCs, through cross-platform portability features that would enable users purchase once and read on more devices.

The Blio for Windows applications is available for download from Softpedia as well, via this link.
