Blaupunkt, the car electronics division of Robert Bosch corporation, has come up over time with quite an impressive line-up of various audio car accessories, including some pretty advanced radio/audio playback systems. And that seems to be the case with the company's latest announcement as well, since the new Kingston MP47 and Hamburg MP57 models are designed to function with USB-based storage devices to allow users access to an entire library of digital audio files.

Thus, the Kingston MP47 and Hamburg MP57 each feature four powerful amplification channels, high quality tuners and CD transports that include support for CD-based MP3 or WMA files. Furthermore, the Hamburg MP57 model also features integrated Bluetooth capability with an included microphone, which means that the users can also employ it for wireless hands-free cell phone operation. Nevertheless, even if it doesn't come out of the factory with this option, the Kingston MP47 supports the same level of functionality, with the addition of the company's optional Bluetooth module.

Nevertheless, the main selling point of both the Blaupunkt Kingston MP47 and Hamburg MP57 models is a rear-panel USB input with included cable that is intended for use with an external hard-drive or other storage device. This feature lets owners access their entire digital music library from the radios' attractive flip-up removable front panels, or import digital pictures for the full-graphic display of the Hamburg MP57. Both radios include 3.5mm front panel inputs for use with portable music devices and each is also compatible with the company's optional iPod interface.

The Kingston MP47 and Hamburg MP57 boast four channels of amplification, each capable of delivering 45 watts of power. Acoustic performance can be individually tailored to suit car interiors and listener taste with a three-band parametric equalizer, as well as Blaupunkt X-Bass control. Full four-channel pre-outs, subwoofer output and a second auxiliary input on the rear panel of each makes it simple to expand a car audio system with additional sources or amplification.

The Blaupunkt Hamburg MP57 features an attractive black-on-white backlit dot matrix display with three-line browsing of ID3 tag info and compatibility with JPEG image files, while the Kingston MP47 features the company's Variocolour display technology, capable of outputting 4,096 colors. Both models will be made available in the near future at Blaupunkt's distributors for $319.95 (the Hamburg MP57) and $209.95 (the Kingston MP47).
