For those who don’t say no to a little voodoo activity, Blackmagic has just introduced a new 4K professional camcorder, which looks pretty futuristic especially since it has been made out of aluminum.

Introducing the Blackmagic URSA PL and its variation, the URSA EF. As Dpreview notes, both devices offer 4K Super 35mm sensors, as well as global shutters and 12-stop dynamic range.

The two models are pretty similar to the AJA CION which have also been showed off this week at the NAB Show in Las Vegas.

The device has a huge 10-inch full HD flip-out display, which can be easily compared to a professional tablet.

The two camcorders offer support for recording in Apple ProRes HQ/422/LT Proxy with resolution options ranging from Ultra HD, as far as Full HD 1080p in frame rates ranging from 23.98 to 60.

Another impressive feature is liquid cooling, which ensures that the camera runs smooth even as it records at high frame rates.

The EF model will be made available first, starting in early summer and will set customers back by $6,000 / €4,325.

The other model has been scheduled for availability in late 2014 and features an upgradable broadcast video Ultra HD sensor and B4 lens mount.
