We are all going to get a piece of the BlackJack action very soon because Samsung has decided to give us, the Europeans, and all of you Asians out there the chance to actually be able to buy ourselves one of this highly appreciated devices, stateside of course, because until this moment, we only saw it in pictures and maybe a few lucky ones of us got there and got to hold it in their hands for some time.

So the Samsung SGH-i600, lovingly dubbed by the Korean phone manufacturer and later by its users as the BlackJack is going to be launched on the Asian and European cellphone markets and believe me, it really is a very expected moment over here.

One more thing about the handset?s name? I don?t have any clue about it but I just wonder: what is going on with the lawsuit between Samsung and RIM on account of i600?s brand name? If you have any info, drop a comment because I?m sure there are a lot more people out there interested in such a piece of information.

Returning to our dear BlackJack, if you still don?t know what the money will get you in case you decide to buy one, then this is the short story. This is a HSPDA/GSM smartphone, working on 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz networks, with a 65k colors 2.3 inch TFT display with a resolution of 320x240 pixels, with a full featured QWERTY keyboard and having a Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone edition operating system.

The other more important features to be found on its spec sheet are the microSD memory expansion card slot, the built-in 128 MB ROM and the 64 MB RAM memories, the GPRS, EDGE, 3G/HSPDA, Wi-Fi and USB supported data technologies, the wireless Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity with stereo A2DP, the 1 megapixel camera and a secondary VGA for video conferences, the Java MIDP 2.0 technology, the document viewer with support for MSWord, Excel, Powerpoint and PDF files and the last, but not the least, the multimedia player with support for a huge number of file types, some of them being WMV, 3GP, H.263, MPEG4, WMA, MP3, AAC, AAC+, OGG, ASF and a lot more others.

It really does look pretty good now, doesn?t it? And if we are to believe all the Americans that have praised it so much since its launch, we are going to get our hands on a pretty good phone and maybe one of the best to come to Europe.

From Samsung of course :).
