U.S. Cellular has just confirmed that it will offer the BlackBerry Torch 9860 full-touch smartphone, beginning August 26.

In addition, U.S. Cellular also announced that through September 8, customers who switch to the carrier's network and activate any new smartphone will get a $100 switcher credit per line.

BlackBerry Torch 9850 will be available for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate, but purchase of a data plan is required, and a new two-year agreement. Activation fee may apply for new customers as well.

However, it looks like Sprint has a better offer for the Torch 9850, as the carrier announced that it will retail the smartphone for $149.99 with a new two-year contract.

At U.S. Cellular, we continue to offer our customers devices that can keep them entertained, organized and help simplify their day. Our smartphone line-up includes something for everyone and is one of the reasons we have the happiest customers in wireless,” said Edward Perez, vice president of sales and marketing operations for U.S. Cellular.

As we already reported, the Torch 9850 offers an all-touch design and comes with a brilliant 3.7 inch capacitive touchscreen display, the largest BlackBerry screen to date.

Furthermore, the phone features Liquid Graphics technology, which combines a dedicated high-performance graphics processor with a fast 1.2GHz CPU and high-resolution display, allowing for a highly responsive touch interface with fast and smooth graphics.

A 5-megapixel camera with HD video capture capabilities is also included, so users can record special moments.

The device is powered by RIM's new BlackBerry 7 OS, which offers users the next generation BlackBerry browser that provides a significantly faster, more fluid web browsing experience.

It comes bundled with the enhanced BBM 6 (BlackBerry Messenger) that allows users to customize their Torch 9850, and provides access to various apps for gaming, social networking, online shopping via BlackBerry App World.
