The BlackBerry PlayBook didn't sell well throughout the past quarters, that's for sure, yet RIM seems set to make sure that it will enjoy higher sales during the last quarter of the year.

The Canadian mobile phone maker has put in place a special deal for business users interested in the acquisition of this device, offering two tablets for the price of one.

The new promotion will run until the end of the year, and will include a free PlayBook with the purchase of a tablet PC from RIM.

“From now until Dec. 31, 2011, BlackBerry business customers will receive one free BlackBerry PlayBook tablet with every two purchased from an authorized Valued Added Reseller,” the company notes on its website.

“The BlackBerry PlayBook tablet is powerful, portable and, for a limited time, more affordable for your business.”

The offer was put in place only for business customers living “in the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, and Canada (excluding Quebec).”

Tablets purchased must have the same storage capacity. Offer applies to single purchase orders only and separate offers cannot be combined to meet Offer requirements,” RIM also explains.

In addition to offering one PlayBook for free with the purchase of another, RIM also threw into the mix free accessories for the device, limited to one for each device.

“Receive one premium accessory per BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. Choose from the following accessories: BlackBerry Leather Sleeve, Black;BlackBerry Charging Pod; or High-Speed HDMI Cable, 6 ft.

The deal seems pretty appealing, although the tablet PC is not seen as a great device by many. Even so, it does have a lot to offer to its users, and should be capable of even more when the new Tablet OS 2.0 will be pushed to it.

Of course, that will happen only next year, and those who will purchase the device now will have to wait around four months until the software update will be delivered to their units.
