Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion has confirmed plans to bring the new BlackBerry PlayBook to the market in Indonesia on July 16th.

The tablet PC will be delivered to the local market with WiFi connectivity capabilities and should land in three different flavors, based on the amount of internal memory, namely 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB.

The leading handset vendor also announced that the tablet PC was expected to become available all around the country via authorized retail stores and mobile operators.

“The BlackBerry PlayBook is an incredibly powerful and feature-rich tablet that is ideal for both business and personal use,” said Gregory Wade, regional managing director at Research In Motion.

“With a growing number of stores across Indonesia featuring the BlackBerry PlayBook, we welcome customers to try it out for themselves,” added Wade.

The new device comes to the market with an ultra-portable design, while being capable of delivering great performance capabilities.

Some of the main features of the new device include support for Adobe Flash, which results in uncompromised web browsing, along with true multitasking, HD multimedia, out-of-the-box enterprise support, and more.

The BlackBerry PlayBook was unveiled with a 7-inch capacitive LCD touchscreen display that can deliver a 1024 x 600 pixel (WSVGA) resolution, and a 1 GHz dual-core application processor, accompanied by 1 GB of RAM.

The tablet PC also comes with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, along with a 3MP camera, both featuring 1080p HD capabilities, offering both video conferencing and video capture capabilities to users.

Other specifications of this device include Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n) connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR support, built-in GPS receiver, as well as Accelerometer, 6-Axis Motion Sensor (Gyroscope), and Digital Compass (Magnetometer).

The device runs under the BlackBerry Tablet OS and offers support for MP3, AAC and WMA audio playback, as well as for high-resolution video playback (H.264, MPEG4, WMV) 1080p HDMI output.
