On Monday, Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion has announced the availability of their BlackBerry PlayBook tablet PC on the market in Singapore starting with June 23rd.

SingTel, M1, and Starhub, will carry the new device, which should also arrive in various retail stores around the country.

The tablet PC will arrive in the country with WiFi connectivity capabilities, and will be sold in three different models, based on the amount of internal memory they sport: 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB.

The PlayBook was already made available for pre-order. Users interested in making a purchase will find a list of retailers that have it on pre-order here.

“The BlackBerry PlayBook is an incredibly powerful and feature-rich tablet that is ideal for both business and personal use,” said Gregory Wade, Regional Managing Director at Research In Motion.

“With a growing number of stores across Singapore featuring the BlackBerry PlayBook, we welcome customers to try it out for themselves,” added Wade.

The new device comes with an ultra-portable design, being capable of providing users with impressive performance capabilities, as well as with great web browsing capabilities, and with support for the Adobe Flash Player.

True multitasking and support for HD multimedia were included into the mix as well, along with advanced security features and out-of-the-box enterprise support. The tablet PC was launched with a 7" capacitive LCD touch screen that can deliver a 1024x600 WSVGA resolution, and with a dual-core 1GHz application processor packed beneath it.

The BlackBerry PlayBook tablet PC runs under the new BlackBerry Tablet OS, and sports dual 1080p HD cameras, with support for video recording and video calling, as well as 1GB of RAM, and built-in GPS receiver.

Other specs of this device would include 1080p HDMI output, HD video playback (H.264, MPEG4, WMV), Bluetooth 2.1+EDR support, Stereo speakers and stereo microphones, accelerometer, and the like.
