Although Research in Motion has its hands full trying to solve the recent BlackBerry outage, the Canadian took the time to release two software updates for BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Curve 9350.

BlackBerry fans (if there are any left) who own a BlackBerry Bold 9900 from WIND Canada or a BlackBerry Curve 9350 from U.S. Cellular will be able to download the latest software updates.

However, owning a BlackBerry Bold 9900 from WIND Canada is a bit hard these days as the carrier has yet to add the smartphone to its lineup.

Currently, Bold 9900 is listed as “Coming Soon” at WIND's official site, but the software update has already been released.

Anyway, the availability of the update may confirm that WIND will debut the Bold 9900 in the following days.

BlackBerry Bold 9900 OS 7.0.0.439 is available for download from RIM's support website, as well as the BlackBerry Curve 9350 OS 7.0.0.400, which can be found here.

Unfortunately, RIM has yet to issue any changelog regarding any of the two updates and it's too early to tell what's really new.

Given the fact that both smartphones are delivered with BlackBerry 7 on board, we can safely assume that the update adds minor tweaks, several bug fixes and perhaps a few new features.

Unveiled back in August, BlackBerry Bold 9900 is one of three top-tier BlackBerry 7 smartphones that RIM was relying on to take back some of the market share lost over iOS and Android.

BlackBerry Curve 9350 is a second-tier smartphone, which is meant to make BlackBerry 7 affordable to anyone who is not willing to spend the necessary amount for a Bold 9900, Torch 9810 or Torch 9860.

All in all, it will be interesting to see if customers demand for RIM's BlackBerry 7 smartphones will be negatively affected by the recent outage.
