BlackBerry is about to issue an open letter to customers and fans who are now wondering what’s going to happen with the Canadian company on the coming months.

Apparently, BlackBerry wants to reassure customers that it will continue to exist even after it goes private or it is taken over by other player in the market.

The open letter states some facts that have already surfaced in the media over the last couple of weeks. For example, the company confirms that it is now “restructuring with a goal to cut our expenses by 50% in order to run a very efficient, customer-oriented organization.”

BlackBerry is also confident that its portfolio of BlackBerry 10 devices offers best-in-class productivity features and best-in-class security.

“We have completely revamped our device portfolio this year with the launch of BlackBerry 10. We have four BlackBerry 10 devices – two all touch and two hybrid (touch and QWERTY) – and all are running the third update of our new platform.”

Furthermore, the company confirms, once again, plans to bring BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) on Android and iPhone.

Thus, BlackBerry claims that there are no less than 6 million customers pre-registered to be notified of its rollout of BBM for iOS and Android.

“Yes, there is a lot of competition out there and we know that BlackBerry is not for everyone. That’s OK. You have always known that BlackBerry is different, that BlackBerry can set you apart.

Countless world-changing decisions have been finalized, deals closed and critical communications made via BlackBerry. And for many of you that created a bond, a connection that goes back more than a decade,” says BlackBerry in the open letter.

In the end, BlackBerry reiterates its support for the new BlackBerry 10 platform and all its services and asks customers and fans to continue to trust it: “you trust your BlackBerry to deliver your most important messages, so trust us when we deliver one of our own: You can continue to count on us.”
