TELUS is the first carrier to bring the BlackBerry Curve 9380 in Canada, but other operators confirmed they would offer the smartphone as well.

Bell Canada is also expected to launch the Curve 9380 on November 28, but the carrier has yet to announce the phone’s pricing options.

Anyway, customers willing to commit to a new three-year agreement can now purchase the BlackBerry Curve 9380 from TELUS for only $49.99 (37 EUR). Otherwise, TELUS sells the smartphone for $369.99 (275 EUR) outright.

Two additional price options are available for customers who hate being tied by a long-term contract, but cannot afford to pay the suggested retail price: $319.99 (240 EUR) with a one-year contract and $269.99 (200 EUR) on two-year term.

According to TELUS, the Curve 9380 is “chic, compact, and versatile” and offers users “a full touchscreen experience” to keep them entertained.

Unveiled earlier this month, BlackBerry Curve 9380 is the first full-touch smartphone in the Curve family and a cheaper alternative to the high-end BlackBerry Torch 9860.

In this regard, the device sports a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 360 x 480 pixels resolution, as well as optical trackpad and touch-sensitive controls.

The phone is equipped with an 800 MHz processor and packs 512 MB onboard memory, 512 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Connectivity options are all covered, as the phone is bundled with built-in GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, as well as NFC (Near Field Communication), which allows users to pair their devices with other NFC-enabled accessories and read tags with a single tap of the phone.

BlackBerry Curve 9380’s battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 360 hours of standby time or up to 5 hours and 30 minutes of talk time.
