Shortly after introducing the BlackBerry Curve 9360 in Hong Kong and Indonesia, RIM announced the availability of the smartphone in Vietnam through its distribution partner, Brightstar Corp.

Potential customers who want to purchase the BlackBerry Curve 9360 will have to come up with VND8,750,000 (US$420 or 310 EUR) upfront.

Furthermore, the company offers an extended 18-months warranty with support from local after-sales service centers, though the standard warranty usually offered by RIM is only 12-months.

The Curve 9360 is aimed at those BlackBerry fans who want to taste the BlackBerry 7 OS new features but cannot afford to purchase the Bold 9900, Torch 9860 or 9810.

The smartphone comes with the traditional QWERTY keyboard for fast, accurate typing and the usual optical trackpad that allows users to control the phone much easier with only one hand.

Aside BlackBerry 7, the Curve 9360 is one of the most powerful smartphones in the Curve family, along with the recently launched BlackBerry Curve 9380.

In this regard, the handset is equipped with an 800 MHz processor and packs 512 MB onboard memory, 512 MB of RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

There's also built-in support for NFC (Near Field Communications), GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as a 5-megapixel rear camera with flash and video recording capabilities.

When it comes to software, the Curve 9360 comes pre-loaded with the latest version of BBM (BlackBerry Messenger), Social Feeds 2.0, Facebook for BlackBerry and Twitter.

The new BlackBerry Curve 9360 is a stunning, easy-to-use smartphone that will appeal to Vietnamese customers who want to stay socially connected. We expect the new BlackBerry Curve 9360, with all of its major enhancements, to be well received by feature phone users in the market as well as existing BlackBerry Curve users looking to upgrade,” said Nicholas Horton, Vice President of Indochina at RIM.
