On Thursday, Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion has announced the release of its new BlackBerry Curve 3G, the Curve 9300, on the market in Thailand, offering users the possibility to enjoy a new, exciting addition to the BlackBerry Curve series of smartphones.

Although it did not offer specific info on the phone's pricing in the country, RIM did announce the BlackBerry Curve 3G smartphone (model 9300) should hit the shelves in Thailand sometime in September.

The new mobile phone comes with a nice range of features packed inside a rather affordable device, including support for high-speed 3G (HSDPA) networks, and advanced communications features so as to keep users connected at all times with their friends and family.

“The BlackBerry Curve 3G is both an accessible and feature-rich smartphone which will be popular with customers in Thailand who highly value communications and productivity tools that help them get ahead of their day,” Gregory Wade, Managing Director, South East Asia, RIM.

“With the ability to connect to Wi-Fi and the 3G networks that are planned to roll-out in Thailand, users can communicate and access information quickly and easily, and thanks to built-in GPS they can even share their location on BBM and social networking sites,” he continued.

The specifications list of the new device includes a comfortable full-QWERTY keyboard, complemented by an optical trackpad for navigation, and by dedicated media keys.

Moreover, the new device comes with support for Wi-Fi networks, and with other connectivity capabilities packed inside too, along with built-in GPS receiver.

A microSD/SDHC memory card slot complements the available internal memory of the phone, offering support for up to 32 GB of additional storage space.

Support for 3G networks makes browsing faster, streaming music smoother, and gives users the ability to talk on the phone while they browse the web or instant message with BlackBerry Messenger (BBM),” RIM notes.

The handset is powered by the BlackBerry 5 OS, but should receive an update to BlackBerry 6 OS in the next few months, RIM announced. However, it will all depend on local carriers.
