Research In Motion (RIM) announced the introduction of its new BlackBerry Curve 8900 smartphone on the Indian market. The phone was launched in India together with Airtel, Reliance Communications and Vodafone. The company expects the handset to enjoy the same attention from users as the previously released BlackBerry devices.

The BlackBerry Curve 8900 comes with a stylish outlook, combining a compact design with widely known features and a full-QWERTY keyboard. The handset can be considered the smallest device launched by RIM, as it measures 109 x 60 x 13.5 millimeters and weights only 110 grams. The smartphone includes built-in GPS and location based applications, as well as Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g), allowing for easy and quick connections with family, friends and colleagues.

BlackBerry Curve 8900 is powered by a 512MHz next generation processor able to deliver impressive performance. The features list includes a 3.2-megapixel camera with digital zoom, image stabilization, video recording capabilities and flash, multimedia player and a 3.5mm stereo headset jack. In addition, the device has microSD/SDHC memory cards with support for up to 16GB of removable storage.
