It has been long waited for and much discussed, but now it's official. Research in Motion (RIM) has announced the release of BlackBerry Curve 8300.

The phone has a subtle curved shape that makes it stand out when it comes to style. For a handheld, BlackBerry Curve 8300 actually has a smooth design with reduced sizes. It measures 107 x 60 x 15.5 mm and weighs 111 grams. In fact, these are better measures than those found at some normal mobile phone models.

It differs from the more business BlackBerry 8800 through many sport upgrades, such as the 2 megapixel improved camera. Moreover, it is equipped with flash, zoom and is also capable of video recording.

This BlackBerry Curve has a Flash memory of 64MB, but this phone actually comes with a microSD expandable memory slot to make sure that it provides enough space for stored information. It is even more reassuring when you think that the supported microSD card can go up to a capacity of 4GB which has never been reached by BlackBerry until now.

A handheld is generally supposed to offer fast Internet access and easily provide its user information access at any time. BlackBerry 8300 does that with the help of a web browser with RSS that also allows for bookmarking and data download.

Other specifications on BlackBerry Curve reveal that it supports MP3 and MPEG4 media formats as well as polyphonic ringtones. Moreover, this is the first phone in its line that supports stereo Bluetooth and which has a 3.5 mm jack for standard stereo headphones.

AT&T has announced the release of BlackBerry Curve for later this quarter of the year. A price for this stylish beauty has not yet been estimated.
