Canadian company BlackBerry and US-based carrier T-Mobile have just announced they have partnered to bring one of the newest BlackBerry smartphones in the United States.

Beginning May 13, BlackBerry Classic will be available for purchase both online and inside participating T-Mobile brick and mortar store.

Customers will be able to grab it for $0 down and $18.33/month for 24 months. In addition, those who don't want to pay monthly for the BlackBerry Classic will be able to get it for no less than $440 upfront.

“People who love BlackBerry smartphones and want to use one on America's fastest nationwide 4G LTE network now have that choice. Bringing BlackBerry into our device line-up now also stokes Un-carrier 9.0, which is all about bringing the Un-carrier revolution to business,” said John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile.

The Classic comes with BlackBerry OS 10.3.1 operating system right out of the box. It also features a traditional BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard, as well as a small 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720 x 720 pixels) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

The Classic packs some outdated hardware

On the inside, the smartphone is equipped with a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8690 Snapdragon processor, an Adreno 225 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

BlackBerry Classic packs 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

It's also worth mentioning that BlackBerry Classic features an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 2-megapixel camera.

“BlackBerry is proud to partner with T-Mobile once again to offer the world's most secure and reliable mobile products and services that encourage productivity − whether they are individual users making the most of their day with the BlackBerry Classic, or an enterprise seeking to manage thousands of devices,” said John Chen, BlackBerry Executive Chairman and CEO.
