As expected, Sprint has confirmed that it will carry the BlackBerry Bold 9930 and Torch 9850, but has yet to announce their launch dates.

The carrier states that the upcoming smartphones' pricing and availability will be provided closer to their release date.

Rumors about Sprint launching several new BlackBerry 7 smartphones have emerged months ago when BlackBerry Monza was spotted in the wild.

Sprint's upcoming Bold 9930 and Torch 9850 are powered by the next-generation BlackBerry 7 operating system, which was especially designed to deliver the ultimate in communications, multimedia and productivity.

In addition, the praised Liquid Graphics technology, a key new feature powered by BlackBerry 7, is another strong point of the smartphones.

Sprint’s incredibly loyal BlackBerry customers will appreciate the benefits of the BlackBerry 7 user experience on these two new smartphones – BlackBerry Bold 9930 and BlackBerry Torch 9850,” said Fared Adib, vice president, Product Development, Sprint

It appears that Research In Motion (RIM) decided to bring the hardware of its smartphone up to date and equipped the Bold 9930 and Torch 9850 with more powerful 1.2 GHz processors, which makes them very fast and highly responsive.

In addition, each smartphone has been equipped with a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and HD video recording capabilities.

However, while the Bold 9930 comes with a small 2.8-inch touchscreen display and a full portrait QWERTY keyboard, the Torch 9850 features a much larger 3.7-inch touchscreen display and no physical keyboard.

BlackBerry 7 is an evolution that extends the ability to support our customers domestically and internationally as they juggle their busy personal and professional lives with one easy-to-use device. We are excited to continue our strong relationship with RIM through these new powerful devices,” concluded Adib.

On related news, AT&T also confirmed that it will launch the BlackBerry Bold 9810 this month, while Bold 9900 and Torch 9860 will be released later this year.
