WIND Mobile has just confirmed it will carry three new BlackBerry 7 smartphones, the Bold 9900, Torch 9810 and Curve 9360, along with Huawei U8350 Boulder, Huawei U2801 and Nokia 500.

The information does not come as a surprise, as details about the upcoming availability of the BlackBerry 7 devices at WIND Mobile already leaked several times in the last few weeks.

However, the carrier's decision to add a Symbian smartphone to its portfolio is a bold decision, as Nokia's devices are among those with the lowest sales.

Hopefully that will change after the Finnish company debuts some of the promised Windows Phone Mango smartphones, which should be announced by the end of this month.

According to the guys over at MobileSyrup, the BlackBerry Bold 9900 will be available on October 20 for $569 (414 EUR) offcontract, $419 (305 EUR) on WindTab or $169 (123 EUR) on WindTab+.

Whether customers are looking to purchase a handset for themselves or for the perfect gift, these six new handsets will not leave them short on options. From the latest in BlackBerry technology, to more affordable devices, these new handsets offer something for everyone,” said Anthony Lacavera, CEO of WIND Mobile.

No word on the release dates for the other handset, but WIND Mobile officials stated they “will soon follow.”

Customers willing to pay the necessary amount to acquire a BlackBerry 7 are likely to be familiar with the performance of the new smartphone launched recently by RIM.

On the other hand, Nokia's 500 smartphone is little known in North America, which is available for most devices launched by the Finnish handset maker this year.

Nokia 500 is powered by Symbian Anna operating system and packs 2 GB of internal memory, 256 MB of RAM, 512 of ROM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The handset comes with a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 360 x 640 pixels resolution.

It is also worth mentioning that the phone is equipped with a single core 1 GHz processor and features HSDPA and HSUPA support.
