Although the BlackBerry Bold 9790 was rumored to be delayed until January 20 in the UK, it appears that the first stock arrived in the country earlier than expected.

Major retailer Clove UK has just announced that it has received the BlackBerry Bold 9790, though the smartphone had been reported that it would be delayed for this end of the week.

We now have the BlackBerry Bold 9790 in stock at Clove. It had been reported last week that it would be delayed, but we have it here today. We also have the Curve 9380, which launched last week,” said Clove UK earlier today.

Those who still feel the need to own a BlackBerry device can purchase the Bold 9790 via Clove UK for £342 (525 USD or 415 EUR) outright.

According to Research In Motion (RIM), “a sibling to the slightly more powerful 9900, the 9790 is the latest iteration of the ever progressing BlackBerry Bold legacy and offers a feature-rich user experience.”

The smartphone is powered by BlackBerry 7 operating system and packs 8GB of internal memory, 768 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Even though the smartphone is about £100 (150 USD or 120 EUR) cheaper than the Bold 9900, it comes with slightly lower specs.

In this regard, the BlackBerry Bold 9790 is equipped with a 1 GHz single core Marvel Tavor MG1 processor and a 5-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash, autofocus and video recording.

BlackBerry Bold 9790 offers both worlds, as the device comes with a traditional QWERTY keyboard and a small 2.45-inch capacitive touchscreen with 480 x 360 pixels resolution.

In the connectivity front, the Bold 9790 does not disappoint, as the device offers users HSDPA and HSUPA support, along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Depending on the carrier, the smartphone offer NFC (Near Field Communications) support as well.
