Canadian mobile phone carrier Rogers has just lowered the price tag for one of the latest additions to its offering, the BlackBerry Bold 9700 (Bold 2). The wireless operator launched the new handset from Research In Motion a few weeks ago, when it had it priced at $299.99 upon the signing of a three-year contract agreement, yet now the company has it available for only $249.99 on a service contract for the same term.

Basically, those who would like to purchase the second Bold from Rogers will now be able to save $50 more. However, the carrier also offers the handset for two-year contract agreements, priced at $499.99, as well as for one-year agreements, with a price tag set at $549.99. Those who would like to get the phone, but do not fancy a service commitment, can have it from Rogers for $599.99.

What the second BlackBerry Bold from RIM is set to deliver to users should not be a mystery to anyone. The 3G-enabled device comes around with Quad-band GSM/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and Tri-band HSPA (850/1900/2100 Mhz) connectivity options, as well as with Wi-Fi capabilities, stereo Bluetooth, and built-in GPS receiver.

At the same time, the new BlackBerry Bold 9700 also comes with a large display that boasts a 480 x 360 pixel resolution and support for 65,000 colors, as well as with a QWERTY keyboard, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper with video recording capabilities, 256 MB of internal memory space and a microSD memory card slot that supports up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The BlackBerry Bold 9700 (Bold 2) measures 109 mm x 60 mm x 13.6 mm and weighs 122 g, while including a battery that can deliver 6 hours of talk time or up to 18 days of standby time. The RIM handset can be seen with a lowered price, and also be purchased online from Rogers' website from here.
