Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion was rumored before to plan launching on the market a new clamshell device, namely the BlackBerry 9670, with more info on the matter now available. The new clamshell handset from Research In Motion still hasn't been officially announced, yet we can take a closer look at it, courtesy of two new videos that emerged into the wild.

The upcoming BlackBerry 9670 seems set to get in line with the company's BlackBerry Pearl Flip, considering the clamshell design they both share, yet other features are also present with the device. All the popular BlackBerry capabilities are there, such as the full QWERTY keyboard. Most probably, the new mobile phone would land on shelves with the recently announced BlackBerry OS 6, though nothing is confirmed at the moment.

Among the specs that this handset should arrive on the market with, we can count an internal screen that would boost a 480 x 360 pixel resolution, coupled with a smaller screen on the outer case, enabling users to view messages or notifications without flipping the phone open. The clamshell is expected to include 512MB of internal memory.

Other specifications of the device are said to include a 5-megapixel photo snapper, along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options, a microUSB port, and a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space. The videos embedded below, available courtesy of Driphter.com (via Gizmodo) are meant to show a few more details on what the upcoming phone would include in terms of hardware and software.

One carrier that might soon have the phone available for its users is Sprint, based on the support for CDMA networks that BlackBerry 9670 is said to include. However, no specific details on when the handset would be launched are known for the time being, nor on the price tag it might feature when released. Keep an eye on this space for further updates on the matter.
