Says former developer

Peter Molyneux is one of those designers who design videogames for technologies that are not even in the planning stage. In 2001 his Lionhead Studio launched Black & White, a game which allowed the player to perform complex gestures with his hand (controlled through the mouse) in order to shape the world and command a semi intelligent creature. It's a perfect fit for the new Kinect motion tracking technology that Microsoft will launch for the Xbox 360 in November. But it seems that Lionhead and Molyneux currently have not plans to go back to the franchise which last game launch was in 2005.

Talking to UGO at the E3 trade show, Molyneux said that he was still interested in Black & White but this does not mean a commitment for a third game. The developer said, “The original Black & White - with the hand, reaching in and touching and stroking, you can really factor that with Kinect, and it could be really super cool. It's purely me just thinking about it, and thinking about what Black & White means. I love the idea of that connection the hand gave you into the world, the feeling of power, the feeling of nurturing.”

At the moment the veteran developer is working on Fable III, the role playing adventure title that is prepared for a fall launch date and will allow the player to experience how it is to be both a revolutionary and a king. The game is set to support Kinect to some extent, without making it a central part of the experience.

Molyneux is also working on a project built around Milo, the virtual boy that was initially used to show off the Microsoft made motion tracking system. The designer has such un amount of ideas that is bigger than the development time he have, making difficult to expect to hear more about a potential Black & White 3 after Fable III is out.
