Sony Ericsson announced that their long waited concept Black Diamond handset will be available from 2007, but not from Sony Ericsson but by a company called VIPN, and will initially be available in only 5 unique numbered pieces. Information about the concept phone designed by Jaren Goh was made publicly in March, but no one thought that the project will come to life, at least not that fast.

Regarding the features it includes, the handset is pretty good and will have quad band compatibility with Wi-Fi, an Intel 400Mhz processor running Windows Mobile 5.0, a 262k TFT color screen, Touch Sensitive 2" screen, it will also feature an internal memory of 128mb, but will also have a 2Gb SD card for external storage, and a 4 Megapixel camera.

The materials used for the build will most likely be based on Titane and Polycarbonate with mirror-finish cladding and Diamonds. As stated above, the impressive handset will only be available in 5 Unique numbered pieces in Limited Edition for about $300,000 each.

Sony Ericsson didn't take the challenge that implies mass producing this wonderful smartphone, but fortunately if everything goes well VIPN will actually produce the model in numbers and will not make them too exclusive.
